This park is looking great! I like the rides that are in there, but there seem to be too many steel coasters.

*quiet voice* May I have a go at contributing, or is that a case of "too many builders spoiling the park"?

This park is looking great! I like the rides that are in there, but there seem to be too many steel coasters.

Here we go again...
Perhaps I should explain a few things, so that it's clear to understand.
Yeah, a lot of steel coasters, but the coasters are all different car styles.
Each one offers a different experience. Some have inversions,
others don't. Two are launched, the others are not.

Stunner-Steel Twister-Sit Down
Greez'd Lightnin'-LIM Launched
Xcelletron-Reverse Free Fall-Duo
Thriller-Floorless

So it's really no different than any other amusement park. Example...
Take Busch Gardens, Tampa. They have like five steel coasters...

Montu
Kumba
Shei Kra
Scorpion
Cheeta Chase

Don't forget we're only talking steel coasters...
(I haven't forgotten about the woodies Gwazi and the Roswell Cyclone.)
;)
Even though Kumba and Shei Kra have the same sort of steel track, One offers vertical & near vertical drops.
While in RCYRF, Stunner has the large vertical loop and an in-line twist, plus it's got the thrilling height factor and major speeds.
While Thriller has more inversions in the way of a small vertical loop, a cobra roll, double corkscrew, and an in-line twist,
plus a real underground tunnel and slower speeds. The two coasters offer totally different experiences.

Greeze'd Lightnin' has one inversion. An inverted top hat. While Xcelletron gives the launched thrill, (without the inversion)
the duo-track thrill and the long air time free fall aspect. Even though all three are launched, the two rides are totally different.
:)
But what stumps me is that someone thinks that a park has "too many steel coasters".,
when in real life, people wold be jumping outta their skin when a real park announces a new steel coaster.

There is a lot of space left over. I'd guesstimate about 1/3rd. to 1/2,
(once you take under consideration of the empty areas.)
So I don't see why we couldn't have another chef in the kitchen,
so to speak. You can balance out the ratio of woodies to steelers.

The thing is, someone suggested adding a second woodie and someone else pointed out that there is already one good wooden coaster in the park. The fact that there were several steel coasters already seemed to be a non-issue, so I was sort of responding to that...I was very tired when I wrote that post though.

Thanks very much. :D

I'll probably throw in a steel coaster anyway (maybe a floorless version of Shockwave 2 since it's high capacity) but the real interest would be in 1920's style woodies. I'm very fond of the rough and aggressive layouts they made and the lovely Art Deco stations. :)

It's not up to me. It's up to everyone, as far as I'm concerned. I was just saying that another participant would be ok with me. There are others who have yet to have their say.

BTW: I was thinking of starting another multi-player park. Since this one seems to have taken off.

Ehhhh, I ****ed up the quotes here.....you know who said what.

Him^
Me V

LOL.....dude, you could say "hi" in a post to me and KNOW that you'd get a response. It's just that the reply would be directly proportional to the "hi".

Anyway.....thought I'd sacrifice a couple of screens, since that seems to be the way this project works. You all know that I'm not fond of showing anything before it's finished because....
apparently NO ONE gets my work until it's completed. And, I have SO much in my "completed" resume'.

Ehhh, first screen.
Station (unfinished) for "Great American Mine Train". (see how I stuck with the theme?)

Semi-overview.

I like where the monorail station is here. It wasn't just some random placing...I did the math. And, it will have specific theming before I'm finished..... Obviously moved the black/gray path to fit.....removed a SMALL part of the existing pathway (because it had a peep-trap) and made it work into the new area. I also removed a useless flat ride that was closed and hadn't even been tested yet...hope that was "Hurricane" or something else that was just 'there'. The monorail will be adjusted to fit the landscape. I'll do the supports for the monorail when I figure out it's final layout (no worries, Bob).

Edit: I hit the 'center post' and somehow it all became one, big quote. You all know who said what.

Readjust your brains for a few seconds.
It'll all come to ya.

Sorry K, I forgot to show some of the little adjustments I made to the park before I passed it on.

Posted Image
^Here's an overview of the park before I passed it on. I left the bits I was going to do
undone like a giga coaster connected to pop idol or x factor (in UK). This is mainly due to rct_noob
joining back in on the project.

Posted Image
^Like here I was going to finish off the viewing area for Thriller and show Wolfie to see if he
wanted to do any changes. I also deleted all trees around Thriller. I was going to re-foliage both
Thriller and Stunner as-well. On the bright side, I did finish all fencing and empty foliage spots around the park!

Posted Image
^Here was my try at a midway. I know it failed but I needed another path to link
both sections of the park while I was going to-redo Wolfie's midway because that IS a peep-trap.
With the 2 rides, I was going to re-theme then but again didn't. :(

K, I love what you got there already and don't mind you moving the midway. It was just to connect Bronx
with the park. Good luck finishing the coaster, It really goes in that side of the park.

Kel, I like the mine train. It's right up there with your usual projects. (Which are usually pretty good.) A few screens are better than none. I didn't think that the midway I made was that much of a peep trap. It's practicly lined up directly to the gate. If my midway is a peep trap, then by all means, make alterations to it. Usually, I try to keep the benches off the midway like this, to prevent vandalisim to the benches. Less crap to fix as the game runs with peeps.

The area around Thriller, well, I'd rather have participants in RCYRF make a few minor changes, rather than have them sit there and fume. I have no idea why there's a dirt path dead end behind the theater. Trees are a problem when using ZC. I only placed a minimal amount of trees, as a guide for myself to place a thicker forest sometime in the future. Mostly because if anyone else used ZC, then the dumb things would flicker, and the trees would just have to be replaced anyway. (Note to self... just use bushes.)

I'm kinda wonderin' what that red coaster, near Greez'd Lightni'n and Xcelletron is? What's that block of path that isn't connected to the midway all about? (near The Bronx.) The midway by the Top Spin, might work out better if it was connected differently, so that the corner is removed, and run straight into the midway, rather than a turn away from the gate. I could fix that, and it really wouldn't look that much different.

I like the mine train too: it looks really fun and intense, and the theming is very good. :) As Wolfman asked, what's the red coaster?
