It's not just the ability to ride the rides that makes RCT3 so endearing...
  • Its 3D with the ability to view anything at any angle
  • True sandbox mode
  • Unlimited scenery and custom scenery
  • Fireworks, laser shows, water shows - that you create
  • It's a real night and day mode
  • working lighting
  • ability to make billboards from your pics
  • use your own custom music
  • flying camera mode to take your own park videos
  • much more intelligent peep behavior
  • ability yo create custom peeps and "family" groups
  • water parks where the peeps swim
  • particle effects - smoke, fog, fire, etc.
The list is long. Not that all those things are perfect, and there are downsides, the biggest is the inability to make huge parks without a supercomputer. There are some annoying things to be sure like the night/day cycle too short, the coaster physics are not as accurate as RCT2, the peeps although smarter - are still not rocket scientisits by any stretch.

I love RCT2, but once I got over my annoyances with RCT3 and learned how it works - I find I am able to produce the parks I was only able to dream of in RCT2. For me - RCT3 is how I spend most of my RCT time these days.

You and me are somewhat alike Sambo.

I've gotta say, those are, in my opinion, the best upsides of RCT3. But, I have to semi disagree with the parks able to be produced; like you said, unless you had the perfect computer, you can't make a full-scale recreation of a Six Flags park or anything with RCT3, but can with RCT2 (Actually, you can do it with RCT3, you just need a lot of tolerance for omega lag). So I can see where you're coming from.

RCT1 - for people who like to 'progress' and beat scenarios
RCT2 - as above plus more sandboxing for parkmakers, but nasty bugs make it not the best for scenario players
RCT3 - too many bugs make it the least attractive option for scenario players. Good for parkmakers.

RCT4 for me has to be RCT1 + RCT2 + RCT3. Great scenarios in 3D with no bugs. Great for parkmakers too. In fact, what RCT3 should have been in the first place!

I liked the nice graphics in RCT3, but I found them... corny. It was not that great. I mean, it was fun to build coasters, but it lacked that spark.

An RCT4, although it will never happen, would have to be slight more realistic, but i disliked too much 3D freedom. Personally, isometric is still my preference.

I would like more elements in coaster building, as in more funky twists and loops.

And i would also like a sandbox and the ability to use the zero clearances ability (but only for walls) without glitching.

Now I know this sounds like RCT3 - but really, it isn't.

As compared to mini-peeps that had no discernable sex or age? Now THAT'S realistic! LOL!

You haven't looked at custom scenery, it's spot-on realistic, have you looked at citytraders park in the rct3 section? You won't get the same result in rct2.

I build in isometric, because I'm used to it. Sandbox and zero clearnaces are realities in RCT3...so how would that differ in a rct4?

Yeah I generally actually use the normal camera for pretty much everything and the freelook for crash films (I can be extremely sadistic at times).

It doesn't count in RCT3. To kill them peeps is just the right thing to do.

I agree somewhat in some of the features. But I think having sexless ageless and mindless peeps with far from perfect graphics everywhere else made rct 1 and 2 unique. I just think rct 3 was too generic and mainstream. I also think rct3 is just way too confusing for the coaster building compared to one and two. JUST MY OPINION. And lastly, I grew up with 1.
