The grey bricks/stones are there to break up the brick monotony, I don't think it looks out of place at all. If I raise the fountain level up with a lip, what happens when it rains? It's gonna overflow, and we don't want that, so yes it is realistic, as seen here.

And how is not realistic to use bricks inside the fountain? Its perfectly realstic, *cough* here...

*cough* You're reasoning for my "flaws" isn't well thought out. Sorry.

Climb back into your highchair. Keep your "flaws" as you put it. I don't take every suggestion either. So rope it in.

Both fountains that you have selected have a liner. The small fountain has a black liner, and the large fountain has a white liner. Neither are brick & grout inside. And NEITHER fountain has a water level six feet below the rim of the basin. Also, neither fountain has a six foot fence around it. (If anyone had fallen in, theres no chance they could ever climb out again without a crane and a harness.) So the images you provide do nothing to support your reasoning. In short... They don't hold water.

So let's talk about who's not well thought out now.

The water level is only FIVE feet below the rim. Same with the fence. Kinda ironic how you're the only one who has a problem with this stuff. Even everybody at NE isn't complaining about it.

The bottom of the fountain is ten feet below ground level.
Who puts a fountain in a ten foot pit? Obviously, you do.
Unfortunatly, you've convinced yourself that it looks good.
Keep the fountain like that. I'll still think it looks wrong.

Too bad. Because this is what it COULD look like. But you want it in a pit.

IMO, that's not much better than mine. It may not be in a pit, but it's way too skinny, The border, or lip as you call it doesn't look right. The "water" looks more like glass. Peeps can't get to the fountain without going off the path, unless you put a dirt path under the stairs....in which case, it should stay the same path as the midway.

Whatever... 'Scuse me... Cough cough {jealous} cough... ahem...
You don't want to take my advice. That's fine. I don't take everyone's advice either.
Moving on...

This is a Parking Permit Booth. It's simular to a gate.

Cars drive through it, pay for the parking pass, get a park map,
and any fliers and stuff that the park wants to hand out.
But it all just gets left in the car anyway.
