Very nice... except the mis colored balcony fence on the upper level on the extreme right, and the second floor of unit #5 from the left. Actually, come to think of it, I think that the brown would look better IMO. The flesh tone just makes it seem a bit too busy, know what I mean? The dusty brown, (as I call it,) would give just enough of a subtle contrast, with the green tile behind it, without really bringing in another color to complicate the natural look.

The green tiles and the green trim looks very nice as well. It's a great contrast to the brown. Looks like a more "natural" color pallet. Good choice. I'd like to see the first floor finished out too. You might not need to bother with the trim on the first floor. Because the foliage will be more than enough to make up for it. Maybe the conifer hedge with the opening in it, might work out for the better, as it'll give you a bit more detail with the wooden post on either side of the opening, than just the solid conifer hedge would provide.

I like the inverted wedges located on either side at the upper corners of each balcony. It helps to distract from that boxy look of the balconies. Although that detail seems to get a bit lost on the third level, beneath the roof poles. So it might not work as well in that location on the top floor. Otherwise, I think it's an innovative touch of detail for the first & second floors. So I'll leave that up to you.

BTW: Have you given the tiki torches any thought? I put together a decent assortment package of objects that include various small fire effects and bamboo poles sections that just might be what it needs. (I even included an image of how to put together something of a "wall sconce" made with the poles.) Email me if you want it. I'll be happy to send it out.

You can tell that you've been spending a lot of time on this. It looks good. Keep it up.

Phew, that was quite a bit fo reading. so here are my comments/answers:

Thanks for the compliment, this was something I put together just to test out. As people over at NE pointed put, the railings would be too high (5 ft) for the scale i'm building, so I put in a whole new style of railing, inspired those used on Malaysian longhouses, which puts the height at 3 1/3 ft. Also, I changed the color of that railing to the "dusty brown" (as you call it, the one in the bottom left corner right?). As you said, it brings a more natural look, which is what I'm aiming for.

Thanks again. I'm trying to stick a "natural" color palette: browns, reds, yellows, and greens. The floor texture is supposed to resemble stitched bamboo, which I thinnk I did a pretty good with. I took off the bottom layer of trim from each floor, since it interrupts the flow of the wooden deco blocks into the base blocks. I'm not quite sure what you're talking about with the conifer hedge, if you could explain that more, I'd appreciate it.

The balconies gained some depth in-game as soon as I put those blocks in, and definitely took away from the blocky/boxy feel of the balconies. As for the ones on the third floor, I'm going to keep them since as you said they get lost in the poles (which could later get changed to 1/8 wood eaves). Also, I like to build from a peep's perspective, though sometimes I have to make sacrifices for the RCT community. One of those would be leaving those deco blocks in there, even though they only occupy the outer edge of the balconies.

I have given it some thought, and I appreciate the fact that you put together a package, but I either already have all of those objects, or I feel they won't fit in with the theme. Also, I'm decided not to put lights on the edges of the buildings, going for simple torch lighting around the walkways.

The conifer hedge/wall (bottom left) is not the regular hedge texture.
It's the one that looks like tiny pine trees apparently. (Pine is indigenous to nearly
every continent on the planet.) When this object is placed on a slope, it lacks the opening.

The other hedge has a gate. (top right) Which is colorable. But appears to be a bit fancy for the theme.

So you're saying to use the conifer hedge to enclose the patios on the first floor? I was planning on leaving them open, since that what Disney does at the the real Polynesian, but I'll try the hedges anyway.

It's just a suggestion. Of course you may do as you please. You might come up with something totally different and better. That's what I like about RCT. Sometimes your imagination does some spectacular things. In any case, I'm sure it'll work out just fine.

Oh, yeah, it does... Didn't know you were Dark Horse over at NE, I don't really like that color scheme, though...

Try changing out the brown track railing to red or something..
