A close-up view:
And an overall view with the Giant Dipper in the background:
here is a photo (on eBay - sorry) showing the piers from above in 1928:

And finally, one showing the pier from the side (when GD was still there):
As you can see, both the real ballroom and my recreation are very big. On the real pier, the Giant Dipper station was on the diagonal, allowing much more space between the station and the ballroom. The miserable looking tunnel on Lick was also further to the right.

Try using the duller red and yellow, instead of the hella bright red and yellow if you're worried about retina burn..?

Three further problems exist:
1) The windows on the top tier should be inset one tile. I'll do that. However, are they windows at all? It's hard to tell from the photos - maybe it was completely open-air at the top with just a simple roof.
2) The ballroom seems too big on the bench, even though it is within Steve's markers. On the original pier, the GD station was on the diagonal, with the little tunnel further back. Because the station had to be recreated at right-angles to the coaster, and because the coaster footprint partially dictates the length of the pier, the station and tunnel are much closer to the ballroom than they should be. There were 3 little huts between the ballroom and the station on the real pier. So the question is, should I squeeze the ballroom into a box (as per Egyptian) or leave it as it is, looking disproportionately big, but at least the right shape?
3) According to the eBay photo, the main section of the Bon-Ton was shorter in stature than the Egyptian.
Finally, I'll try darker reds and yellows to avoid retina burn.

ok it was the bench that i wanted um i cant believe it took me this long to reply life gets in the way of rct2 all the time
Yes, it is getting in the way of my rct time at the moment too. As regards the bench: following the endless problems getting it to work on mushroomer's machine, I think for now I'd better stop circulating it and stick with the people for whom it did work. In any case, it was a beta. Thanks for the interest though. I'll post here if it requires further testing and then of course I'll mail you a copy if you are still interested.

It's hard to believe it's been six years since I last posted in this thread. Still, the Bon Ton Ballroom has been updated and, while incomplete, it is at least better than it was back then:

The biggest problem was what to do about the striped canvas roof which I just can't replicate in RCT2. I may change the colours or design, but this will do for now.
I've also tidied up my recreation of the Ocean Park Municipal Auditorium:
