XP
I wouldn't touch Vista with a 12 1/2 foot pole,
in ANY application.
8-Cars V. 1.3.2.0
Which I believe you recommended.
Or was that ParkDat or DatCheck?
I forget.
I get the same thing with Son of Beast trainer.
If that means anything.

BTW, ZC doesn't make trees flicker for me, just the fountains freeze.

And Luketh...remember that you can always alter the contents of your bench with ParkDat.

This is a bit more fun than making a bench and selecting hundreds of objects. And you won't fall asleep doing it.

Unfortunatly, unless you have the game's ObjDat folder itself open, you can't simply copy/paste dat file names from Dat Viewer, into Park Dat. But that's easy enough to get around. After you find a Dat file name using DatPreview, fin it in the ObjDat folder.
With a right click on a dat file in ObjDat folder, and select "Rename". Just copy the name. "Control+C", and deselect by clicking off to the side in the window somewhere. (don't actually alter the name... just "copy" it.)
Then paste the copied name in the ParkDat window that adds the new object.
Park Dat places an X in a column to the left, that tells you if an object is in use or not. Don't delete an object that has the X in that column. So it makes it easy NOT to delete a used object and killing the park.
You taught me that K_W.
The best way to go about it is to weed out the scenery objects you don't think you'll be using. This will free up a few slots for you to fill with new stuff.
Then open Dat Preview. It takes a while to hunt down the ObjDat folder, (since you have to do it manually,) Once you find it, pre select the file type you're looking for, small objects, large objects, paths attractions, etc. THEN open the ObjDat folder in the DatPreview. This takes a while for the files to be found and loaded into DatPreview.
At this point, you can find the actual ObjDat folder and open it. So it'll be ready when the Preview is ready.
At least, that's how I go about it. But you still have to be careful. Because if you select too many "orphaned" objects, they all won't display in the ? tab. Because there's a limit to how many objects get displayed in the ? tab.

Wish I had known that. I wouldn't of had to purge my objects file, and subsequently screwing over my game, (with me, it's an inevitability) re-install and all THAT hassle. Now, I save all my object & park DL's in an "etc" folder in the RCT 2 folder. I can't remember if you can add/remove scenery tabs via ParkDat though.... And, Geewhzz taught me about basically creating a bench from another one via ParkDat without ever having to go into the scenario editor at all (cures any issues with small scenery tabs not scrolling).
I should probably remove objects I never seem to use anyway. and put them in a folder marked "Rarely Used Objects". If only to run some "preventive maintenance" on the ObjDat folder. Having less crap in the OD file will make it easier to use the bench editor, by not having so much crap to wade through.

I respect you and your choices.
I will not push the subject.
But be aware that I had made some ride changes to the bench.
I believe I made reference to that when I had the park in my possession.
So when it comes around to you, you just might find that you're missing a few custom attraction files.
Not really that many, (mostly original game attractions) so I can probably get them to you in record time.
Unless you want me to send you the file, before the park comes your way.
so we can make sure you got everything you need.
