Park SIXTEEN is now up for download in the first post...enjoy! :D

Park FIFTEEN - Christmas Land
At first glance, I liked this park. Liked the green and red and it was just very festive looking...well done on that. However, the buildings were kind of weird in that only one side was decorated and they were more like skinny store fronts...looking at the park in different angles made me not like it as much...but still good job to parkmaker to catch the festive Christmas spirit!

Park SIXTEEN - Winter Wonderland
Loved this entry...all sparkly and landscape was nicely done..really was a winter wonderland!

For those that are saying things like.....not Christmasy, only wintry feel...please keep in mind that even though a "Happy Holidays" contest with a 24-day countdown to Christmas would make people assume it should be a "Christmas" park...I personally would not take away from someone's entry just because it isn't Christmasy enough for you...after all, the contest was still was open-ended in that the parkmaker was only told to make a Happy Holidays park and some people do associate the Holidays with Winter...

Also, why is everyone just listing the top 3? You all need to be voting on the top 4.....just a reminder about that ;)

I, too, am behind in my reviews. I'm downloading park 16 now and will be back with my reviews of parks 13 through 16.

. . .Reminds me of where I live, Florida. Not a clue to the christmas season. . .

Haven't you ever seen "National Lapoon's Christmas Vacation"? "Mele Kalikimaka" is Merry Christmas in Hawaiian.

I liked the consistent use of brick (paths & buildings) thoughout park THIRTEEN, but the food court building looks out of place & the side walls look 'thin'. The ride selection was typical for this holiday theme, but I liked the reindeer coaster.

Park FOURTEEN took a different approach to the holidays incorporating New Years Day into their park. Unfortunately this park looks too busy with numerous miscellaneous objects (gray & purple) that didn't appear to represent anything. Also the messages written with blocks get lost and could have used consistant coloring. I did like the "champange glass" themed ride but agree with Wolfman that a different color (yellow/pink/white) would have worked better.

The builder of park FIFTEEN used the Christmas colors well in construction of the 'half' buildings, but I didn't like the step-pyramid in the back left corner or the 'tower' in the back right corner. I liked the Christmas tree drop ride, but the park could have used some food & drink stalls (and a mechanic).

Park SIXTEEN was more like a twinkly holiday postcard than a park, with well done buildings in the foreground & the snowy, tree covered mountain in the rear. I really liked the look of this park except for the randomly placed roofs in the back center and the floating roof over the path in the back right corner.

I would have edited my previous post but there is no Edit button (or Fast Reply) on this topic.

Yes, but I knew this a long, long time ago. We have the Bing Crosby & Friends Christmas Album & CD, which is where Nat Lam got the song. Bing sang it with the Andrew Sisters. See, I've been around for 48 years.

BTW: I think a problem we might be experiencing is that the park is a wee bit too small. I think we could up the size to 20x20 for next year. What do you guys think? Should we poll on this?

OK........finished playing poker and spent a few minutes checking out #16...so.........

Park# 16..........It's nice........I liked the concept.........not so much the architecture.........it was the SAME roof on slightly different buildings everywhere........same wall/window combos.....some variation would have worked better here. Also...the fake water ride/waterfalls......one dipped into the "ice"...one finished at ground/ice level and just cut off.......sort of seemed "unfinished" to me..... the "Rudolph the runaway reindeer" CONCEPT was nice.......could have been done better though, IMO...........Overall..not bad but, not top four worthy either.

BTW, Becky...............the reason that.........I think, some of us are only doing top 3........it's like avoiding that LAST helping of turkey to save room for pie......... (tryptophan beats ANY form of synthetic "sleep aid".......LOL) ;) just kind of saving some room for what's to come..........

the style of number 17 looks familiar but for as far as I know this is not from him .....

it gives a good impresion of the village in deutchland or österreich where the winter came, I only mis some ice on the roofs ;) .

nice park :) , this one deserves a top 5 atm :) .

Park#17.....Another "at first glance" park.......when I opened this......I LOVED it.......great architecture.......nice theming.......

But, I've been scrolling back....taking specific comments into consideration.........and remembering that this "contest" IS called "Happy Holidays".........and, while I understand that "Happy Holidays" has different meanings to different people...........it should have a HOLIDAY feel to it, no matter where you come from or, what specific holiday you celebrate.........and, this is another park that is done QUITE well...but....doesn't have much of a "holiday " feel to it. To ME............this is basically the designers ( and, I have NO idea who it is......I'm new here) contribution that seemingly follows his/her usual designs and it is absolutely gorgeous........it just doesn't have a "HOLIDAY" feel to it.......it's VERY well done....don't get me wrong...........the ONLY "holiday" part whatsoever is the "tannenbaum" though.

Plus, I didn't like the attempt (once again) to "simulate" action within the park by throwing in a slew of mechanics/handymen to give the EFFECT of "guests"........especially since they ALL have the same colors...

If you're going to use employees to simulate action.....at LEAST change the colors of their uniforms so that they don't all look the same......... to me, it just looked like a slew of "OOMPA LOOMPA'S running around in circles on crack.

Had this designer made this park at least SEEM to be "peep friendly"...... I'd have it in my top four....

Because he/she DIDN'T think about the theme of the contest and, once again........used employees ( how many snowmen ARE there in one place at one time).....this entry will not be in MY top four

sorry........but, once again.........a little bit of attention to minor details would have helped tremendously on a park that, IMO..COULD have won MY vote in this contest....
