I just checked that out. And something I don't understand is why my file name was changed from "Thriller", to--- "Thriller_3"? I'm guessing that it means that two other track designs were submitted with the same name before mine? But just to let you know, I scan my files for virus before uploading. So if a file is corrupt, you didn't get bugs from me.

It adds a number to all track downloads, for some reason. But that's not so bad as not being able to use it. Did it work for you when you dled it, wolfman?

All it was, was an empty zip folder. The window said it either contained nothing, OR the file was corrupt. I imagine that since the files DON'T need to be zipped to upload to the exchange, that the file was lost/corrupted due to the uploading, OR zipped process here on the exchange. I kinda doubt that it got corrupted by a high-speed fiber optic network.

I've uploaded a lot of tracks recently, (like 14 of them) and I haven't yet checked out if those files are intact or not. I may just go check, and find out if there's a particular date on which the 'problems" had begun.

EDIT:

I tried to DL the tracks on three pages, from the begining, that is from the most recent, (Thriller.) And tried to DL each track, and each was corrupt or invalid. This had to be something recent, As I had uploaded and DLed The Vine & Cannonball, and Twister #5 before, (just to check it out,) and they DLed just fine before.

So it confirms what I said in the beginning of this post. It's something at the Ride Exchange. Because the half-dozen or so other contributors that have submitted tracks on the previous pages can't ALL be infected.

I have discovered that every ride uploaded since we moved servers on March 22nd this year, does not download properly.

OK, the download bug found is now fixed and the Ridex is reopened as v2.17.

Hmm, I've backed that change out, and gone back to the old code, new uploads work again, but older ones do not. I need to take the Ride Exchange offline while I investigate.

This is a 'feature' rather than a bug. The Ride Exchange looks for other tracks that have already been uploaded with names that end the same. There are two other rides. In your Thriller case:

http://forums.rctspa...m...=14&Id=2436
http://forums.rctspa...m...E=14&Id=567

We have to make sure that the zipfile has a unique name, otherwise we risk overwriting old tracks with new uploads. You will find though that the TD6 file inside the zip has the correct name.

Haw! The links don't work, or the exchange is down. One of the two. Nevermind. The links ain't important.

The Ride Exchange for RCT2 rides will now remain offline until the new one is ready. A new Ride Exchange is needed to work with the new version of the board software.

The 2 Ride Exchanges {one for RCT1 rides, and the other for RCT2 rides} will be merged together. As a result, this topic is now closed.

After my development server crash, and the delays which that will cause to the new Ride Exchange I decided I ought to reopen this Exchange.

I believe that I have finally found the bug here, where downloads are corrupt when they land on your PC, and fixed it. The Ride Exchange is upgrade to v2.18 12-Sep-09.

I have therefore decided to reopen the RCT2 Ride Exchange.

Well i think guest should be able to download 10 rides an hour or something cause 1 an hour is annoying.

Thank you for the feedback, but that isn't a bug.

There is a limitation, so we can control our server costs for serving the rides and other forum pages. The more people download, the more it costs us.

Anybody can increase their allowance by adding to the community, instead of just taking from it.
