Thanks again for both the encouragement and the critique.
Emergo: I am going for old style. My problem is, the other colours in this game tend to take away from the realism. This ride is called Barcelona, and most of the buildings that I'm seeing in that city are stone grey and brown. The greys in the game are too bright and loose that realistic feeling. I'll take your advice (all of it) and work with it.
cjman and world: Would you mind giving me some ideas for ride layout. My ride has good numbers, and works well with archy. It seems that if you want to create a ride with archy, you can't make as good a ride.

Coaster Crazy: Thanks dude!

Here is some more work on the area. I'm afraid I've ended up with too many ideas and not enough room. I may destroy Barcelona, and create a watter coaster instead of a dark ride for Venice. However, I really like all that is there right now (with some tweaking on the coaster) and will keep it all there if feedback says it doesn't look too cluttered. The big building is Le Chateaux De Terror, incase you were wondering. Thanks in advance.

^I don't remember saying anything about the coaster...

IMO, with all the archy it has to maneuver around, it's actually pretty well designed, but not the greatest coaster I've ever seen from you. And you're right, if you have to build a coaster around scenery, it won't look as good because you're so limited. That's why I don't do it.

Here's a tip: Instead of building the coaster around the scenery, I just build the coaster in the area I know I'm going to have it in. Then I build the scenery around the ride. That makes it much easier. If there's one or two structures I have pictured and know I want to interact with the coaster, then I'll build those first so that I don't leave them out.

Your archy is amazing, and I can't believe how fast you're working on this!
oh, and DONT forget the VP!! (don't do what citytrader did...*shudder*)

Wow!I love that chateaux and especially that smaller building in the same style in front of it

For the big building I would try to give it a bit more of "relief" on the largest sides (to make those sides more interesting and a tad bit less repetitive).
For example you could make a part of the facade stick out, like you did with the small things on the small sides.

Trying to explain what I mean, I'll do a screen:

You could just use the same walls/windows/colours as there are now I think, only make them a (1/2) tile more sticking out.

Anyway, very nice progress, keep going :D

Thats because I did. He got us mixed up.

For the layout use rcdb.com and look at wooden coasters, see what sort of layout you like, and do it. I think the park would benefit from a Balder-esque woodie: http://rcdb.com/ig1562.htm?picture=3

Sorry Pineapple and cjman. I did mix up who sent the critique on the roller coaster.

So cjman; I do build the ride first, but after so many experiences with rides not enabling scenery (ie: too many curves that make scenery stick out awkwardly, or 0" to the ground, making a full ground works impossible) I go in to the build with what I have in mind. Thanks for the idea though, and the nice words. I actually think I am going to go for VP. I don't know if I could win, but I think it is worth the effort. Thanks.

So Pineapple; That roller coaster you sent me to looks amazing. I'm not going to work on it right away because I just finished the work on the coaster and I don't have the heart to destroy it all as of yet, and I will have to redesign around a new coaster anyway. I'm going to save this game before I destroy Barcelona and if I can't improve on it for this park, I'll keep it as is. Thank you for the link and your suggestions.

So Emergo; Wow, you made a screen. I can't believe how cool people are on this site. Did you see the playing cards? (Actually I know you did. Congrats on all who got their own card. They're extremely cool)
I am going to muck with the chateaux based on your ideas. Thanks for the time you put into it.

If I don't use a suggestion in this park, please don't think I am ignoring you. I haven't received a single suggestion on this park that I don't think had merit. Sometimes it is simply a limitation in my own vision or ability, while other times I think it is too late for me to change this park (ie: Becky's and other's suggestion of different paths, which may not happen in this park), and a few times it is just that I like what I've done and want to keep it, and know that I can use the suggestions in later parks. For the most part I use everything I get from you guys, supportive and supportive/critical (since that's how cool this site is) and it has made this park, not only more fun, but way (AND I MEAN WAYYYYY!) better.

Thank you again.

I have a question about that one ride in that one screenshot. It's like the Spider Top Spinner in RCT3, where can you download it? I could use that...

I believe it is Earl's, but I'm not sure. (RCTmart.com) If you can't find it, I'll email it to you.

That's where the 8cars trainer comes in handy. It can't do EVERYTHING, but it'll let you do a lot more with buildings interacting with coasters. It really helped me out on the France RR, namely on the building the coaster goes up and does a helix on top of. I couldn't have placed alot of the blocks I used without 8 cars.

Anyhoo, dunno whether you have it or not, but I'm just saying that zero clearances can come in handy alot. :wait:
