I Have 1,2,3 ( RCT ) running on windows xp and xp pro. RCT 1,2 Has no problems running in these windows settup. RCT 3 runs slugish in xp and pro, but managable. It doesn't matter Space,Ram,Memmory, Still Runs Slugish. I Also Have 4 Computers with Vista (JUNK TO ME ) , RCT 1,2 Will not run in Vista.RCT 3 is desiegned to run in any format ( Any OS ). I Have It Runing In 1 Computer With Vista And It Does A Bit Better than XP-XP PRO. The Scroll Rate Is Smoother And Colors Are Better Defined. So I Would Say Go Ahead And Try It ,I Don't See With Your Set Up that You Would Have Any Problems. Stayaway From Patches And Trainers > Vista Will Not Except The Game Anymore ( NO MORE PLAY ),You Will Have To Play It As Is.
There Is A Way To Play All Of The Games On One Computer If You Want To Do This: 1) Partition Your Hard Drive ( 1 or 2 partitons).
2) On The Second or third partion Install Windows XP ( Get Updates as well SP2 And All).
3) When Your Computer Reboots It Will Ask You What VERSION Do You Want To Use: Vista, XP(Xp-Pro).
4) Pick Which Ever One You Want To Use For The Programs You Want To Use: 4a.) Vista Internet 4b) XP-XP Pro For Gamming And So On
That Is How I Have My Comps Set Up And They Work Wonders.
So Give It A Try If It Does Not Work (Playing RCT3 That Is) Delete It And Try What I Said ,It Wil Work Then... Here To Help All, Have Fun And Any More Troubles We Are ALL HERE To Help .....

Should I try RCT3 on my new computer? (The one with Vista?)
My specs are:
3GB RAM
500 GB Hard Drive
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E4600 @ 2.40 GHz
nVidia 8400 256MB graphics card
Is it worth it to install RCT3?
Since I upgraded I have no problem running RCT3 in XPpro. Not sluggish, only a bit laggy in SuperBig parks. I would suspect if Vista is native to your new machine (not upgraded from XP) it should work at an acceptable level.
Worth a shot.

Yeah. Contrary to what Nighthawk said, I have RCT2 on my computer and it works fine.
what version of vista are you using?
it runs fine on my vista also but I try to understand why it does run on some system and not on others.
and did you tried the 8cars trainer already cause according to almost everyone that wont run on vista also but it does run with me.

Microsoft Corrected 90% Of There Progam Errors In Home Premuim, So That It Could Accomidate Older Games.
I Everybody Remembers When Vista Came Out It Only Came In Basic Form NOT PREMIUM!!!!!, Premuim Came Out 8 Months Later After Microsoft Had To Many Complantes About There Opperating Systems.
I Work On Computers And Know From DOS Programming To Vista Buisness.
If Everyone Who Has A Problem With A Game Would Say What Opperating System They Have It Really Would Cut Down On Miss Diagnosis Of The Problems.
I Am Not A Geek Or Smart Alik Or Of The Sorts, I Have Been Reading And Trying To Help Others,But It Is Kinda Hard To Help Without Knowing OS To Diagnos The Problem Correctly.
I Hope That You Don't Think That I Am A Jerk Or Anything , Believe Me I Am Not ...........

Ultimate Is The Same As Premium, All Ultimate Is A Premium With A Different Look To It.
If You Remember Windows Xp , If You Upgraded To XP-Pro It Was Another Face Cover.
Ultimate Is The Same Way = If You Look Into All Of The Programs It Is The Exact Same As Premium...................................

I'm not sure that's true. In fact, I'm almost sure that's not true. Vista was made available to the general public worldwide on Jan 30th 2007. Home Basic, and Home Premium were included in the launch.I Everybody Remembers When Vista Came Out It Only Came In Basic Form NOT PREMIUM!!!!!, Premuim Came Out 8 Months Later After Microsoft Had To Many Complantes About There Opperating Systems.
No, no, no. http://www.microsoft...ons/choose.mspxYes You Are Correct.,
Ultimate Is The Same As Premium, All Ultimate Is A Premium With A Different Look To It.
No, no, no again. If You Remember Windows Xp , If You Upgraded To XP-Pro It Was Another Face Cover.
Ultimate Is The Same Way = If You Look Into All Of The Programs It Is The Exact Same As Premium...................................
XP Pro was XP Home with all the features that corporates need, for group policies, active directory, domain membership/control, extra non-Microsoft network support, etc.
One of the better ways I've seen Vista versions of Windows compared with XP versions is like this.
XP Home = Vista Home Basic
XP Media Center = Vista Home Premium
XP Professional = Vista Business
XP Media Center + XP Professional = Vista Ultimate

It's got Vista and I didn't have any trouble installing the game (I used Gold plus Wild! on this one), and got the billboard fixed to work fine. I still need to work on getting Das Matze's Instant Woods custom scenery set up correctly, but otherwise I transferred all my custom scenery, parks and scenarios and everything works great. Having 4Gb of ram helps, and this is a 512 Mb card (although I have a HD 3870 512Mb card to install this weekend).
I've still to install RCT2 on this machine, although we have it on the other Vista computer and it works fine, just don't play it often.
