Whenever I click on "Save Game", RCT will immediately close without any kind of error message...nothing...it just closes and I'm instantly returned to my desktop. This happens to both RCT w/ eps and patch and RCT2 w/ patch. I'm not sure if it does the same for "Load Game", but I suspect that it does. Both games run fine; This is the only problem I've run into so far. Here are my general specs:
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz
RAM: 1.0 GB
Video Card: ATi Radeon X1950 Pro
Sound Card: Creative SB XF-i
OS: Windows XP Home w/ SP2
I will give out DXDIAG information if you need it.
Thanks in advance.

*sigh* This happened to me for rct only. I couldn't play because it wasn't compatible. It's not the OS, sound card, cpu, or video card. Maybe directx. Try installing the xp patches for both rct's.
RCT patches. All that I can help with.

Vista is a totally different animal than XP. Vista will NOT run a lot of older software.
Open question> Has anyone here been able to run RCT1 or RCT2 in Vista? If so please post details.

for vista you just have to disable visual themes for this program (right click on the pictogram -> properties -> compatability -> disable visual themes)

Still the same thing even after disabled visual theme... though it does look better now without the screwd up colours
